Every month there are special performances and events near Tottenham Court and around greater London. In addition to numerous musical and theatrical events and film festivals, there are special once a year events many months:
January
Harrods Annual Sale, Harrods is one of the most famous department stores in London. This sale is a major event for the city.

Oxford and Cambridge Boat race on Banks of Thames River - The people coming in costume to watch the races are as much entertainment as the great boat races. Fun to watch the college teams competitive spirit.

Hammersmith and Fulham Festival, London Original Print Fair, Annual Spring Plants and Gardens Fair, and the Queens' Birthday gun salute at Hyde Park and Tower Bridge with both cannon and gun shots.

Royal Windsor Horse show at Windsor palace featuring the best of British equestrian jumping and dressage. attended by royalty, celebrities and horse lovers from around the world.

Wimbleton Lawn Tennis Championships, one of the worlds most prestiqious tennis tounaments. It is televised and watched around the world.
July
International Henley Royal Ships Regatta, running since 1839 and set in the countryside just outside London featuring rowing crews from around the world.
Opening Of Buckingham Palace to the public. Regular guided tours to enjoy.
August
Notting Hill Carnival, one of the biggest street carnivals in the world. Held in Ladbroke Grove and featuring Carribean food and music.
London Mela with Asian music and culture held in Gunnersbury Park.
